Conspiracy Narrative
SMERSH ("Smert Shpionam," Russian for "Death to Spies") was a real Soviet military counter-intelligence agency active during World War II, later fictionalized as a recurring villainous organization in Ian Fleming's James Bond novels -- almost certainly the source of this card's pop-culture framing.
